Whenever we get news about the Kia Soul, it's always good. And usually, it's always heralded by our favorite dancing hamsters. This past week, the Korean automaker put out a new--and quite long--spot about the new Soul. In it, we see our favorite fuzzy rodents take on a rather epic take on Dueling Banjos, and learned a turbo Soul is coming.
While "turbo Soul" sounds like an automotive form of Buddhism, it has exciting implications for the lineup. Not only has Kia experimented with turbocharged engines on Soul prototypes before, they've also hinted that this has been in the works for a while. We believe the engine will be the 1.6-liter turbo, and slot between the naturally aspirated 1.6-liter and the 2.0-liter to be the mid-range engine. Power numbers have yet to be released.
